INKJET VS LASER
An important choice to make is, whether you need an inkjet printer, or a laser printer. Inkjet printers are generally better at printing photos or colour prominent documents, this does come with a trade-off on the printing speed. Unlike inkjet printers, laser printers don’t use ink. Instead, they use toner – which does last much longer. The trade-off is that laser printers are generally more expensive.
COLOUR VS MONO
Monochrome laser printers use a single black toner cartridge. Colour printers typically use four toner cartridges: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. Colour printing uses more toner to print a single page, which significantly increases the cost to print per page. Colour printers also more likely to require a component to be replaced as part of their service, which can increase the printers’ cost per page even more.
PRINTER FUNCTIONALITIES
Another important factor when deciding which printer to buy, is the functionalities it comes with. Do you require a multi-functional printer which can also make photocopies? Maybe you require double sided printing? Other important printer functions to consider, what size printing do you require?
