Sustainable future

recycling printer cartridges

We strive to contribute to the betterment of the environment, and one way we can do so is by recycling printer cartridges. Each cartridge that is diverted from a landfill represents a step towards a sustainable future. We appreciate your effort in helping us achieve this goal, and we thank you for your contribution.

Currently, less than a third of unwanted electrical items are recycled, adding unnecessary e-waste to landfills. As electronics breakdown they release toxic chemicals into the soil, contaminating plants, trees, animals and ultimately, us.

It’s important to us to give our customers the best guidance when it comes to recycling empty cartridges, so we’ve done the hard work for you! Please see below the best three methods we’ve found for recycling your cartridges:

1. RECYCLE WITH ZERO WASTE RECYCLING

Zero Waste Recycling is an environmentally sustainable printer cartridge recycling service that will collect your empty ink and toner cartridges and recycle them for you. Simply pop your cartridges into a box to the maximum weight of 25kg, visit the Zero Waste Recycling website and register your account and arrange a collection for your box / pay any fees required.

Pros: They accept both ink and toner cartridges, whether original, remanufactured or compatible, broken, full, faulty or empty.

Cons: There is a small cost associated with the collection of a box, or if you prefer, you can arrange your own delivery of the box to zero waste recycling. Please note, Dottyink are not affiliated in any way to Zero Waste Recycling and cannot arrange this service on your behalf.

2. RECYCLE WITH THE RECYCLING FACTORY

The Recycling Factory offers a printer cartridge recycling service. Simply visit The Recycling Factory website, register an account and download their free pst label. Pop your cartridges into a box (or the original packaging if you still have this), attach the label to your box and pop the box in the post.

Pros: Not only is it a free service, but they actually pay you for recycling your cartridges with them! Or you can choose to make a donation to one of their charity partners.

Cons: Unfortunately they don’t recycle all cartridges and have a qualifying list of inks that can be recycled. You can find full details in their FAQ.

3. RECYCLE WITH ORIGINAL PRINTER MANUFACTURERS

Most original ink manufacturers have their own recycling schemes, so you can recycle your empty OEM cartridges directly with their brand, in confidence. Their details are listed below:
